Legacy of Punjab - The authentic dhaba

location : Opposite Mallya hospital, Richmond road.

Now 6 months in Bangalore, and I have been to plenty of places to eat. Some fantastic, others very poor. In the midst of chaos that is Bangalore, Legacy of Punjab stands out as an "authentic" punjabi place. Wats more its one of the very very very few places where vegetarian food is of some standing. Not withstanding the tasty jalfrezi or the decent paneer makhan wala, what really impressed my palate were the Parathas. We ordered two varieties, Ajwaini and Garlic, both were awesome ! A special mention to the Sweet Punjabi lassi they serve, it reminded me of old times, and thats saying a lot. Somehow most places I have visited here (Including Oye Amritsar!) have lassi as a very thick, almost semi-solid drink. That wasnt the case here. The drink was light, not as light as they serve in Jammu but still light enough to be very likeable. Cheers to that !

The ambience deserves a special mention, everything was rustic and the punjabi village theme was very well brought out.

People tell me the breakfast they serve on Sundays is a buffet and really awesome. Well have to check that out at any cost !

So Bon Appetit folks and Be good :)
